The Trans-Siberian of Italy is a dip in the past! An ancient line with Rivisondoli-Pescocostanzo which is the second highest station in Italy with its 1268 meters above sea level!
It passes with its historic train on the rails between Sulmona and Isernia, between national parks, naturist reserves and lots of snow if you do it in winter. It really seems to be on the Transiberian for unspoiled landscapes as far as the eye is. From 2010 The railway is not used for normal traffic replaced by buses but only for the historical train of the Transiberian of Abruzzo. It is also known for the wits with which it has managed to overcome the enormous difference between Sulmona and Rivisondoli. For bookings we refer you to the link of the association rails.
